Hello! My name is Hollie Sloboda and I am thrilled to be a part of the wonderful staff here at Clearview High School.
This is my 15th year in teaching and my 13th year at CHS. Previously, I taught grades 8 & 10 in the Amherst school district. I proudly call Clearview my home though.
In my free time, which is hard to come by, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, baking and spending time with family. I am a true believer that it is the little things in life that really make it wonderful.
I earned my Bachelor's in Education from BGSU in 2010 and my Master's in English from Southern New Hampshire University. (2017)
I stay busy being a mom of five daughters and one son. My oldest daughter Natalie graduated college and earned a degree in Forensic Psychology. She is employed at The Nord Center. My second daughter Lindsay has one more year of college at The University of Toledo and then she will have her RN and BSN! My third daughter Allison is now a Clearview grad and studies to be an RN at LCCC. My fourth daughter Mira is currently eight and she loves playing outside and taking care of our pet chickens. My (only) boy Dominik, my fifth child, is seven years old. He loves dinosaurs, drawing, pizza and sharks. Last but definitely not least is Emelia. She goes by "Emmy" and is five. She loves snuggling, pasta, getting her own way and playing outside any chance that she gets. She is the last baby and has five older siblings. She is definitely loved!
I hope that you all had a fantastic summer!
-Mrs. Hollie Sloboda
OTHER STUFF:
What are you reading? I am reading a book called "The Butler" and it is FANTASTIC! I love reading and hope to see you enjoy it as well! It is my relaxation in a busy life! Your students will be required to read a book of their choice, in class, when we have a little bit of downtime.
I finished my James Patterson book series during Covid. It was 21 books! I was hooked! I had never read his books before and those of you who had me in class that year are well aware of my reading addiction! Who knew that reading about murder mysteries would be my thing? I also read a five book series by an author named James Baldacci. (The Amos Decker series) These were amazing! ...and the Will Robie series!
